Why the agentic web needs independent ad infrastructure.
The next era of advertising runs on agents and protocols, not dashboards alone. Here is why independence and MCP-native tooling matter now.
For a decade, the buy and sell sides of advertising met inside dashboards. A trader logged in, set up a campaign, and watched charts. That model is now being wrapped by agents, software that reads a goal, calls tools, and acts. The interface is a conversation, and the tools are protocols.
Protocol-native, not AI-flavored
There is a difference between bolting a chatbot onto an old system and being built for agents. Lupon AI Scan is listed in the IAB Tech Lab Agent Registry and exposed over MCP, so an agent can run a scan and act on the result without a human opening a dashboard. The Lupon co-pilot works the same way on the buy side.
Independence is not a slogan here. If your infrastructure is owned by a DSP or a holdco, the agent acting on your behalf is not really yours.
What this means for publishers and advertisers
Publishers get a second auction that runs on engaged sessions, written +10% minimum on eligible inventory. Advertisers get an audience explorer and a co-pilot that suggests segments and optimizes budget. Both sides can be driven by an agent, transparently, with every bid and fee visible.
That is the bet Lupon has made since 2012: independent, full-stack, and protocol-native by design.
